About Erica Kochi
The Antidote to Ordinary.
Erica Kochi makes shirts for men who want more than the default.
Each piece is cut from small-batch Japanese cottons chosen for construction, hand feel, and visual interest. Some fabrics are graphic, some textured, and some quietly unexpected up-close. All are designed to be worn often and well.
The fit is clean and modern, refined through extensive fittings. Structure where it matters, ease where it counts. Designed in California and made in small batches.
Fabrics are sourced directly from Japanese mills and suppliers, often in very limited quantities. Once a design sells out, it is unlikely to return.
How it started.
Erica started sewing shirts for her husband in 2022 out of her backyard cottage in Berkeley, CA. Most of his shirts were boring light blue and striped off-the rack shirts. He started getting compliments on these new designs from coworkers. After a while, Erica started making shirts for friends. The shirts that resonated the most were those made from Japanese fabrics with memorable motifs such as cute animals, flowers, or sushi. At the end of 2025, she decided to scale it up and traveled to Japan to buy remarkable, high-quality fabrics and make a small batch of premium shirts. These are the shirts you can buy here today.
